When you enter a room you want people to look your way and feel something special. Many people will have heard of someone having a great presence. It is all about attitude. The way you feel about yourself and the way you carry yourself.
The secret to having presence lies in the word itself - you need to be present in the room. If you are distracted by work or a personal problem then you aren't present and people will know.
I have heard it said that when meeting the Queen or Former President Clinton, people are surprised that they make them feel that they are the only person in the room, even if the room is crowded. that's presence.
There is a story about when meeting the Queen a lady's mobile phone started to ring. As it rang out the lady ignored it. after a few moments the Queen said to the lady that she should probably answer it might be someone important.
